We are delighted to share that IEEE BUET SB has successfully arranged a daylong interactive programming camp, titled ‘IEEEXtreme Programming Workshop’, on 15th September, 2017, Friday.

The day started with a warm-up session consisting of a CodeChef problem and its analysis for the beginners. The first session began after the warm-up session which was conducted by Amlan Saha, who is an experienced trainer of programming camps and the top contributor of BUET Programming Group for ACM Lab Contests of BUET.

Shortly before the prayer break, our special guest Farhad Mohsin gave his inspirational talk and specialized guideline regarding how competitive programming approaches are a part of any academic or industrial sector and how the preparation of IEEEXtreme can be enhanced. We are honoured to have him as one of the Proctors of the IEEEXtreme teams that would be representing BUET. This session was ornamented by the presence of Romael Haque, SSR of IEEE BDS.

After prayer and lunch break, our IEEE Day Ambassador, Suhee Sanjana Mehjabin, delivered a presentation inviting the participants to celebrate IEEE Day followed by two talks from Sheikh Asif Imran, IEEEXtreme Ambassadors of BUET and Md. Saidur Rahman Kohinoor, IEEEXtreme Ambassadors of DIU respectively, providing key guidelines for IEEEXtreme registration procedure, prizes, the thrills of participating in a programming contest or while preparing for it, and the perspective of contributing to the achievement of Bangladesh.

Our second session was conducted by ACM ICPC World Finalist M M Harun Ur Rashid, who is an experienced programming camp trainer and judge. He began his interactive session on Graph Theory from the scratch, DFS, BFS, etc. He also presented a lecture on Dynamic Programming and on Number Theory.

The workshop was wrapped up by Rakibul Islam Chowdhury, chair of IEEE BUET SB, by thanking our guests, participants, instructors, IEEEXtreme and IEEE Day Ambassadors, and volunteers for their relentless enthusiasm which turned our workshop into a success. Our instructor Harun Ur Rashid wished his best for all participants, so that they can make programming a part of their life and bring our country the well-deserved honour whenever they participate in a global programming contest.

We would like to thank IEEE Bangladesh Section for supporting us for conducting the workshop. Their support has enabled us to arrange such a magnificent workshop. We wish all the best to the enthusiastic participants and hope for their success in their future endeavors.
